Ninth-ranked Sopron KC (8-9) gave a tough game to first ranked Alba (14-3) in Szekesfehervar on Sunday. Alba managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sopron KC. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Sopron KC won second period 16-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Winston Shepard (203-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Diamond Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International guard Andras Rujak (189-88, agency: HMS) responded with 17 points and 4 assists. Alba maintains first place with 14-3 record. Sopron KC at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Szedeak and KTE-Duna. Alba are looking forward to face Jaszberenyi (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sopron KC will play against Vasas in Budapest and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked Vasas managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Vasas won against thirteenth-ranked MAFC in Budapest 83-77. American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) nailed 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Ronnie Taylor accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. American point guard Deville Smith (183-91, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Two Points) came up with 27 points and 5 steals for MAFC in the defeat. Vasas (4-13) moved-up to thirteenth place. MAFC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Vasas will play against higher ranked Sopron KC (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MAFC will play against Szolnok (#6) in Szolnok and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Nikola Pavlicevic produced 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the guests. Falco KC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Szolnok dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Falco KC will meet at home Szedeak (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Szolnok will play against MAFC (#14) and hope to secure a win.

Julian Norfleet orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 assists. ZTE KK moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Szedeak at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. ZTE KK's next round opponent will be Kormend (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Szedeak will play against the league's second-placed Falco KC (#2) in Szombathely and hope to win that game.
Fifth ranked Kormend (11-6) crushed at home 9th ranked KTE-Duna (8-9) by 25 points 90-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Lenzelle Smith Jr. stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kormend moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser KTE-Duna dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Kormend will face ZTE KK (#4) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round. KTE-Duna will play at home against PVSK Pannon (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 17 PVSK Pannon lost to Kaposvari on the opponent's court 55-63. Jaszberenyi managed to outperform Atomeromu in a home game 102-89.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points and 5 assists by Ivan Zigeranovic of Falco KC.

Falco KC - Szolnok 87-79

The game in Szombathely was also quite interesting. 4th placed Szolnok (10-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Falco KC (11-6). Falco KC managed to secure a 8-point victory 87-79 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Szolnok. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Szolnok trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 21-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 79-87 at the end of the game. Falco KC outrebounded Szolnok 35-23 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian center Ivan Zigeranovic (212-84, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field).
