The biggest surprise of round 18 in A Division was guest Kormend's (12-6) road victory over ZTE KK (#5) 88-85 on Sunday evening. ZTE KK was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 29-23 charge of Kormend, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The other American import guard Sterling Gibbs (188-92, college: Connecticut, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Julian Norfleet (188-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Kormend moved-up to second place, which they share with Falco KC and Kaposvari. ZTE KK at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Szolnok. Kormend is looking forward to face league's second-placed Falco KC in Szombathely in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ZTE KK will play on the road against PVSK Pannon in Pecs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Alba delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Jaszberenyi (6-12) 92-80 in Szekesfehervar. It was a good game for Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Peter Lorant contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds for Jaszberenyi. Alba have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. Jaszberenyi at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Alba will play against Atomeromu (#12) in Paks in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jaszberenyi will play at home against Vasas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best for the losing side was Deville Smith with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with ZTE KK. MAFC lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Szolnok will meet Sopron KC (#8) on the road in the next round. MAFC will play against Szedeak (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Sopron KC defeated Vasas in a road game 87-83. Falco KC beat Szedeak at home 74-69. PVSK Pannon won against KTE-Duna on the opponent's court 85-79. Atomeromu unfortunately lost to Kaposvari in a home game 78-82.

There was no surprise in Budapest where 13th ranked Vasas (4-14) were defeated by eighth ranked Sopron KC (9-9) 87-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 32-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sopron KC made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Brandon Johnson (183-86, college: San Diego, agency: BeoBasket) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Austin Dufault (205-90, college: Colorado) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. No shocking result in a game in Szombathely where second ranked Falco KC (12-6) defeated 10th ranked Szedeak (8-10) 74-69 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Szedeak won third quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Falco KC won last quarter 17-14. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Belarusian-Russian Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-85) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Lester Medford (178-93, college: Baylor, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian guard Marko Boltic (193-87, agency: 011 Sports) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Falco KC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Alba, which they share with Kormend and Kaposvari. Szedeak lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with KTE-Duna. MAFC managed to win fourth quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 36. Szolnok forced 19 MAFC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) scored 17 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Atomeromu SE Paks (A Division) added to their roster for two years thr 23-year old American guard Seth Allen (185-88kg-94). He just graduated from Virginia Tech (NCAA). Allen has played there for the last three years. In 32 games he recorded 13.3ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.3apg last season.
