We bring you last week's top performances from Hungarians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Dontay Thomas
Dontay Thomas
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international point guard Dontay Thomas (187-84, agency: Octagon Europe, college: La Salle, currently plays in Montenegro). Thomas contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Danilovgrad (3-14) crushing them 114-53 in the Montenegrin Erste Liga last Wednesday. He recorded 10 points and added 4 assists. KK Sutjeska Niksic (12-5) is placed second in the Erste Liga. This season Thomas averages: 6.6ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 42.9%, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 78.9%. He is a naturalized American. Thomas played for the Hungarian senior national team three years ago. He used to play for Gunaras KC Dombovar in Hungarian league.

Gyorgy Goloman
Gyorgy Goloman
#2. Second place goes to former U18 international forward Gyorgy Goloman (211-96, currently plays college basketball in the States). He managed to help Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles in a victory against the University of Southern California (4-10) crushing them 102-70 in a derby game in the NCAA last Saturday. Goloman scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. The Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles have a solid 9-3 conference record this season. This year Goloman's overall stats are: 4.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 2FGP: 63.9%(39-61), 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 60.9% in 24 games he played so far. He played for the Hungarian U18 national team in 2013.

Gergely Hosszu
Gergely Hosszu
#3. The Hungarian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86, currently plays in Germany). He led Kaiserslautern to a surprising victory over the second-ranked Limburg (14-6) 76-67 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Hosszu was MVP of the game. He scored 29 points (!!!) and grabbed 7 rebounds in 35 minutes. 1. FC Kaiserslautern (8-12) is placed eighth in South-West group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Hosszu has relatively good stats this year: 13.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.9apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 65.7%(44-67), 3FGP: 35.4% and FT: 66.7% in 18 games. He played for the Hungarian U20 national team eleven years ago.

Balint Mocsan
Balint Mocsan
#4. Guard Balint Mocsan (190-97, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Idaho St. (3-9) to beat the University of Northern Colorado (11-2). Mocsan cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. The Idaho St. was defeated 87-81 on the road by the University of Northern Colorado. It's Mocsan's first season with the team. Mocsan's total stats this year are: 4.8ppg and 1.3rpg. He is also Hungarian U20 national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Hungarian passport but never been selected to any of Hungarian national teams:

#1. Nebojsa Dukic (206-C/F-88, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in Portugal) was the major contributor in a Vitoria SC's victory against the ninth-ranked Ovarense (4-12) 102-95 in the Portuguese LPB in Friday night's game. He scored 17 points and added 7 passes in 40 minutes. Vitoria SC/Costa Guerreiro Lda. (15-6) is placed third in the LPB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Dukic's first season with the team. Dukic has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.0apg in 20 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Hungarian.

#2. Damian Hollis (203-F-88, agency: Inception Sports, college: G.Washington, currently plays in Portugal) led Benfica to a victory over the ninth-ranked Lusitania (5-16) crushing them 100-65 in the Portuguese LPB on Saturday night. Hollis was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points and blocked 3 shots in 24 minutes. Sport Lisboa Benfica (16-5) is placed second in the LPB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. It's Hollis' first season with the team. Hollis has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.5apg in 19 games. Hollis is a naturalized American. Despite his Hungarian passport, Hollis previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Hungarian team. He used to play for Albacomp-UPC Szekesfehervar in Hungarian league.

#3. Experienced Zoltan Kurinczky (181-G-82, currently plays in Norway) could not help Persbraten (2-23) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Kurinczky's very good performance the bottom-ranked Persbraten was defeated 85-78 at home by the leading Kongsberg. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Kurinczky also added 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This season Kurinczky has very high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.5apg and 1.2spg. Kurinczky is another player who holds two passports: Hungarian and Swedish.

#4. Marko Popadic (189-G-89, currently plays in Greece) contributed to Holargos' victory against the 12th-ranked Doxa Pefkon (7-11) 101-96 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Saturday night. Popadic scored 14 points. Holargos B.C. (9-9) is placed sixth in the A2. It's Popadic's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 12.3ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.3apg. Popadic has both Serbian and Hungarian nationalities. Despite his Hungarian passport, Popadic previously played for the Serbian U18 national team and probably cannot be called to the Hungarian team.

#5. Nikola Fekete (192-SG-91, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a 1-point BV Villingen-Schwenningen's victory against the 11th-ranked Mainz (2-15) 86-85 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) on Saturday night. Fekete scored 14 points in 24 minutes. wiha Panthers Villingen-Schwenningen (17-3) is placed first in South-West group. This year Fekete has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.7apg in 20 games. He also holds two passports: Serbian and Hungarian.
