Express league Finals, Game 2: Haukar - Njardvik 56-74 (0-2)

Second game of the Express League Semifinals just finished. Njardvik cruised past Haukar on the road 56-74 taking 2-0 lead in the series. The format is best-of-five, so Njardvik needs just one more win for the title. The first chance to do that they will have on Wednesday. Njardvik will be the host of that game. The Express League champion Keflavik is out of the Finals, so the league will get a new champion for sure. Haukar eliminated Keflavik in the Semis. Last time Haukar was the champion in 2009, while Njardvik never did it. However, Njardvik already won Icelandic Cup earlier this season. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Njardvik's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-12 extending their advantage to 18 points. Americans were the main players on the court. Lele Hardy (178-88, college: Clemson, agency: Merit Sports) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Shanae Baker-Brice (168-87, college: Towson) chipped in 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Forward Tierney Jenkins (182-89, college: Alabama) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jence Rhoads (180-88, college: Vanderbilt) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
