Serbia won over Iceland in Reykjavik to start EuroBasket Qualification Round successfully. The Serbian side overcame the hosts 91:78 in the opener.
Serbia scored the first four points in the game but then Iceland grabbed 9:7 advantage. Milos Teodosic (195-PG-87) closed the period at 24:19, while Vladimir Lucic (202-SF-89, agency: Beo Basket) scored for 29:22. Milan Macvan (205-PF-89, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) brought 38:25 and Vladimir Lucic delivered two for 44:27. Nedovic sent the teams to the lockers at 47:29. In the second half Iceland looked better in the court and produced two narrow victories in the third and the last periods. It was however enough to cut to 13 final points.
Dusko Savanovic (204-PF-83, agency: Beo Basket) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Vladimir Lucic netted 16. Milos Teodosic delivered 14, while Milan Macvan had 13. Jon Stefansson (196-G-82) replied with 21 points in the losing effort and Pavel Ermolinskij (202-G-87, agency: I.D.S. Law) delivered 14. Hlynur Baeringsson (197-F-82) poured in 13, whilst Jakob Sigurdarson (192-PG-82, college: Birm.Southern) had 12.

Thor Thorl (Dominos League) added to their roster 24-year old forward Olafur Jonsson (192-92). He has played for the last eight seasons at UMFN Njardvik (Dominos League). In 32 games he recorded 7.0ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.2apg and 1.0spg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Jonsson represented Iceland at the European Championships U16 Division B in Sarajevo (Bosnia) eight years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 4.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.1spg. Stjarnan (Dominos League) re-signed 35-year old former Icelandic international point guard Justin Shouse (181-81, college: Mercyhurst). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Eysteinn Aevarsson signs at Stjarnan - May 24, 2016

Stjarnan (Dominos League) landed 21-year old small forward Eysteinn Aevarsson (192-83kg-95). He played most recently at Hottur (Dominos League). In 22 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 3.1apg and 1.0spg last season. The previous (14-15) season Aevarsson played at Keflavik.
