Jon Stefansson (196-G-82) leads Iceland over Slovak Republic in Levice in Day 2 of the EuroBasket qualifying campaign. The player scored 28 points as Iceland won 81:75.
Iceland grabbed 21-17 after the first period and increased the lead to 8 points at the halftime. Slovakia meanwhile had a great third period and won it 23-10. Anton Gavel (188-PG-84, agency: Pro One Sports) nailed three to give his side 59:52, but the hosts could not win the game. Hlynur Baeringsson (197-F-82) closed the period at 59:53 and then Jakob Sigurdarson (192-PG-82, college: Birm.Southern) closed the run at 62:59. Iceland pushed the tempo at the end of the game and reached the necessary win.
Haukur Palsson (197-SF-92, college: Maryland) nailed 16 points for the winners and Jakob Sigurdarson posted 15. Hlynur Baeringsson collected 13 points and 11 rebounds in a win. Anton Gavel responded with high 31 points and Roman Marko (195-SG-86) netted 14.

The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Keflavik - Tindastoll 86-80 Keflavik rallied past Tindastoll to take 2-0 lead in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tindastoll won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
