Montenegro clinched the fourth consecutive victory at 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. They held off visiting Iceland in Niksic. Bojan Dubljevic (205-PF-91, agency: Beo Basket) knocked down 16 points to lead the home side.
Montenegro set the tone early. The hosts fired 26 points in the starting period to earn an 11-point lead. Montenegro stayed in charge throughout the second quarter. The Balkan team ensured a 48:32 halftime lead. Iceland cut the deficit in the third term. The hosts scored just 12 points to lead by 15 points at the final intermission. However Montenegro quickly picked up the slack and exploded with 25 points in the fourth frame to seal the victory. Vladimir Dasic (208-PF-88, agency: Beo Basket) provided 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, while Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87) added 14 points for the winners. Hlynur Baeringsson (197-F-82) answered with 19 points for Iceland. Jakob Sigurdarson (192-PG-82, college: Birm.Southern) had 15 points in defeat.

UMFN Njardvik (Dominos League) re-signed 19-year old swingman Snjolfur Stefansson (192-98). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 17 Dominos League games he averaged 3.5ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.4apg last season. Stefansson's team made it to the League Semifinals in 2016. He represented Iceland at the European Championships U18 Division B in Skopje (FYR Macedonia) last year.
