27-year old forward Kieraah Marlow (178-F-85) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Snaefell and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
She had a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while her team outclassed Fjolnir (#8, 1-8) with 35-point margin 82-47. Snaefell maintains the 2nd position in Icelandic Express L.. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Snaefell will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Marlow turned to be Snaefell's top player in her first season with the team. Marlow has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.7ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.3rpg), assists (7th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 2.1spg.

Second best performed player last round was Salbjorg Saevarsdottir (182-C-91) of Njardvik. She is a center in her 2nd season at Njardvik. In the last game Saevarsdottir recorded impressive double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Njardvik lost that game 63-72 to slightly higher-ranked Haukar (3-6). This loss caused Njardvik to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Saevarsdottir is well-known at Njardvik and she already established her position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to another Njardvik's star - Lele Hardy (182-SF-88, agency: Merit Sports). Hardy scored 21 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Hardy's great performance Njardvik lost 63-72 to Haukar (3-6). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Njardvik not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hardy could try to bring Njardvik's a little bit higher in the standings. Hardy has individually a great season in Iceland. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.4ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 19.6rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.9apg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Siarre Evans (178-G/F-88) of Haukar - 21 points, 19 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Hildur Kjartansdottir (183-G-94) of Snaefell - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Gunnhildur Gunnarsdottir (175-G-90) of Haukar - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Patechia Hartman (170-G-83) of KR - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Crystal Smith (168-G-84) of Grindavik - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Alberta Auguste (180-F-85) of Valur - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Helga Bjorgvinsdottir (177-C-91) of Snaefell - 13 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
