Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Icelandic who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Jon Stefansson (196-82, currently plays in Spain). He led CAI Zaragoza to a victory over the 12th-ranked Asefa Estudiantes (4-3) 83-68 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Stefansson was MVP of the game. He recorded 16 points in 25 minutes on the court. CAI Zaragoza (4-3) is placed seventh in the ACB. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Stefansson averages: 8.9ppg, 1.7rpg, 2FGP: 53.6%, 3FGP: 36.4% in the seven games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern, currently plays in Sweden). Sigurdarson contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Nassjo (1-9) crushing them 97-76 in the Swedish Basketligan last Friday. He recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Sundsvall Dragons (8-2) is placed second in the Basketligan. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Sigurdarson's fourth year with the team. Sigurdarson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.9apg, 2FGP: 53.1%, 3FGP: 42.3% and FT: 92.1%(35-38). Sigurdarson is in the roster of the Icelandic senior national team.

The Icelandic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jakob Sigurdarson and both played together in the last Swedish Basketligan game. Baeringsson contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Nassjo (1-9) crushing them 97-76. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds. Baeringsson also added 5 assists in 23 minutes. Baeringsson is currently second on the list of best rebounders with 9.7rpg. This year his other stats are: 14.5ppg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 60.3%(47-78), 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 79.2% in the 10 games. Baeringsson is also a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #4. Guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law, currently plays in Sweden) contributed to a Norrkoping Dolphins' victory against the eighth-ranked LF Basket (4-6) 87-77 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. He recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Norrkoping Dolphins (7-0) is placed first in the Basketligan. So far his team won all seven games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Ermolinskij's first year with the team. Ermolinskij has relatively good stats this season: 11.2ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.1apg and 1.3spg. He is also Icelandic national team player.

   #5. International small forward Axel Karason (194-83, currently plays in Denmark) helped Vaerlose win their game against the closely-ranked Randers (3-8) 111-105 in the Danish Ligaen last Sunday. Karason had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 31 minutes. Vaerlose BBK (3-5) is placed fifth in the Ligaen. This year Karason has relatively solid stats: 10.1ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.6apg in the 11 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic national team.

   #6. Point guard Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (190-88, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German BBL could not help Mitteldeutscher BC (2-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Vilhjalmsson's good performance Mitteldeutscher BC was crushed 91-68 on the road by the much higher-ranked ALBA Berlin (#7). He scored 11 points. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Vilhjalmsson's overall stats this season are: 8.9ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.8apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Icelandic National Team roster.

   #7. Former international guard Arnar Jonsson (183-83, currently plays in Denmark) was not able to help Aarhus BC (4-7) in their game against Aalborg (1-10) in the Danish Ligaen. Jonsson scored 7 points and added 4 passes in 34 minutes. Aarhus BC lost 54-64 on the opponent's court to the league outsider (#10) Aalborg. It's Jonsson's first season with the team. Jonsson belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #4 with 5.3apg. He also averaged so far 7.9ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.3spg in the eight games. Jonsson used to play for the Icelandic national team six years ago.

   #8. Center Gudni Valentinusson (204-85, currently plays in Denmark) is a teammate of previously mentioned Arnar Jonsson and both played together in the last Danish Ligaen game. Valentinusson was not able to secure a victory for Aarhus BC (4-7) in their game against Aalborg (1-10). He scored only 4 points. Aarhus BC was defeated 64-54 on the opponent's court by the league outsider Aalborg (#10). Valentinusson's overall stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 2.6rpg. He used to play for the Icelandic U20 national team back in 2005.

KR trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 23-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 86-91 at the end of the game. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists.
