American David Jackson (201-F-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Thor Thorl and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 30 points and eleven rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Tindastoll (#12, 0-7) with 16-point margin 101-85. Thor Thorl is placed at 4th position in Icelandic Express L.. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Thor Thorl will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Thor Thorl's top player in his first season with the team. David Jackson averages just after two games 20.5ppg and 8.5rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Brian Mills (203-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports) of Stjarnan. Mills impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 35 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Stjarnan to another comfortable win 98-84 over the lower-ranked Skallagrimur (#7, 3-4) being unquestionably team leader. Stjarnan's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Mills is a newcomer at Stjarnan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Thor Thorl's star - American Benjamin Smith (178-G-87). Smith got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six assists. He was another key player of Thor Thorl, helping his team with a 101-85 easy win against Tindastoll (#12, 0-7). Thor Thorl needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Smith has a great season in Iceland. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.0ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.6apg (7th best). He also has FGP: 50.7% and 3PT: 46.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jon Olafur Jonsson (199-F-81) of Snaefell - 31 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Justin Shouse (180-G-81) of Stjarnan - 21 points and 16 assists
6. Michael Craion (195-F-89) of Keflavik - 15 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists
7. George Valentine (203-F) of Tindastoll - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Marvin Valdimarsson (198-G/F-81) of Stjarnan - 18 points and 12 rebounds
9. Damier Pitts (177-PG-89) of KFI - 37 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Aaron Broussard (195-F-90) of Grindavik - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Fifth-ranked Hamar (4-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Hottur (10-1) in Egilsstadir on Thursday. Hottur managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. Dominos League Round 9 of Regular Season - 6 days ago

The biggest surprise of round 9 in Dominos League was guest Thor AK's (5-4) road victory over 5th ranked Njardvik (4-5) 105-94 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game without a history. Thor AK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter.
