24-year old swingman Siarre Evans (178-G/F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Haukar and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
She had a double-double of 33 points and 22 rebounds, while her team beat Fjolnir (#8, 2-10) 72-58. Haukar maintains the 5th position in Icelandic Express L.. Haukar is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-7 record. In the team's last game Evans had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Haukar's top player in her first season with the team. East Tennessee State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Evans is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.1ppg) and rebounds (2nd best: 19.6rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Crystal Smith (168-G-84) of Grindavik. She is American guard in her first season at Grindavik. In the last game Smith recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Grindavik was edged by slightly higher-ranked Valur (#4, 6-6) 81-79. Grindavik is still second from the bottom in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Grindavik managed to get this year. Smith is a newcomer at Grindavik and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.4ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 5.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Lele Hardy (182-SF-88, agency: Merit Sports) of Njardvik (#7). Hardy got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for sixteen rebounds and six assists. Despite Hardy's great performance Njardvik lost 63-68 to the higher-ranked KR (#3, 8-4). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Njardvik can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Hardy she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Hardy has individually a great season in Iceland. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.4ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 19.7rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 4.0apg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kristrun Sigurjonsdottir (176-F-85) of Valur - 35 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Britney Jones (172-G-87) of Fjolnir - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Alberta Auguste (180-F-85) of Valur - 16 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Kieraah Marlow (178-F-85) of Snaefell - 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Palina Gunnlaugsdottir (168-G-87) of Keflavik - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Patechia Hartman (170-G-83) of KR - 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir (178-G-89) of KR - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
