Express L. is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 14 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stykkisholmur. Second ranked Snaefell faced one of their biggest challengers KR. Host Snaefell (11-3) defeated guests from Reykjavik (9-5) 72-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KR. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded KR 50-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. Snaefell looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by KR's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Alda Jonsdottir (179-79) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Kieraah Marlow (178-85) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Patechia Hartman (170-83, college: Georgia St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the guests. Snaefell maintains second position with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Keflavik. KR at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Snaefell are looking forward to face Valur (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round. KR will play on the road against Grindavik and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Undefeated leader Keflavik delivered the fourteenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Fjolnir (2-12) 103-92 in Reykjavik. The former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Birna Valgardsdottir contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Keflavik's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 12 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for Fjolnir. Undefeated Keflavik (14-0) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Fjolnir lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Keflavik will play against Haukar (#5) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. Fjolnir will play on the road against Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 14 Grindavik was defeated by Haukar in Hafnarfjordur 73-64.



Valur - Njardvik 95-56

The game with biggest result difference took place in Reykjavik. Local Valur (7-7) outscored 7th ranked Njardvik (3-11) 95-56 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Njardvik to just 7 points in second quarter. Valur dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 28. Valur forced 24 Njardvik turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Njardvik's players. The former international forward Kristrun Sigurjonsdottir (176-85) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Unnur Asgeirsdottir (175-90) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Five Valur players scored in double figures. American Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson, agency: Merit Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Gudlaug Bjort Juliusdottir (172-96) scored 7 points. Fjolnir was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Haukar - Grindavik 73-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Grindavik's (4-10) road loss to fifth ranked Haukar (6-8) 64-73 on Wednesday. Grindavik trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 19-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-73 at the end of the game. Haukar dominated on the defensive end, holding Grindavik to just 7 points in first quarter. They also forced 20 Grindavik turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Siarre Evans (178-88, college: E.Tenn.St.) had a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lovisa Henningsdottir (184-95) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American guard Crystal Smith (168-84, college: Iowa) responded with 32 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Petrunella Skuladottir (177-85) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Grindavik's coach Johann Olafsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Haukar maintains fifth position with 6-8 record. Newly promoted Grindavik keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Haukar will meet league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Grindavik will play against KR (#3) in Reykjavik and hope to secure a win.
