   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82, currently plays in Sweden). He led Sundsvall Dragons to a victory over the fifth-ranked Solna Vikings (13-8) crushing them 91-71 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Baeringsson was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 14 rebounds. Baeringsson also added 6 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals in 35 minutes on the court. Sundsvall Dragons (17-3) is placed first in the Basketligan. Baeringsson is currently first on the list of best rebounders with 10.3rpg. He also averaged so far 14.1ppg, 3.5apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 58.0%(87-150), 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 73.9% in the 20 games he played so far. Baeringsson is currently a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law, currently plays in Sweden). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Uppsala Basket (14-6) 80-65 in the Swedish Basketligan last Friday. Ermolinskij scored 7 points, grabbed 11 boards, handed out 10 passes and blocked 2 shots. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Norrkoping Dolphins (15-1) is placed first in the Basketligan. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Ermolinskij's first season with the team. Ermolinskij is currently third on the league's list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 10.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 4.9apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 51.8%, 3FGP: 36.7%. Ermolinskij is in the roster of the Icelandic senior national team.

The Icelandic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Hlynur Baeringsson and both played together in the last Swedish Basketligan game. Sigurdarson contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Solna Vikings (13-8) crushing them 91-71. He scored 14 points and added 3 passes in 31 minutes. Sigurdarson is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Sundsvall Dragons' roster. Sigurdarson belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6 with 16.9ppg. This year his other stats are: 2.9rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 53.6%, 3FGP: 40.5% and FT: 92.2%(71-77) in the 19 games. Sigurdarson is also a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

Guard Jon Stefansson (196-82, currently plays in Spain) managed to help CAI Zaragoza to win against the 16th-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (4-12) 79-74 in the Spanish ACB in Saturday night's game. He recorded only 2 points. CAI Zaragoza (10-6) is placed fifth in the ACB. This season Stefansson averages: 6.9ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.4apg. He is also Icelandic national team player.

International point guard Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (194-88, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Mitteldeutscher BC's victory against the closely-ranked s Oliver Baskets (7-9) 80-66 in the German BBL last Saturday. Vilhjalmsson scored 8 points in 17 minutes. Mitteldeutscher BC Weissenfels (7-10) is placed 14th in the BBL. Vilhjalmsson has relatively good stats this year: 10.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.2apg in the 17 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic national team.

Karason scored 17 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Vaerlose BBK (6-8) is placed fifth in the Ligaen. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Karason's overall stats this season are: 9.9ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.7apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Icelandic National Team roster.

   #7. International shooting guard Logi Gunnarsson (192-81, currently plays in France), who plays in the French NM1 (third division) could not help Angers BC 49 (5-8) in their last game. Despite Gunnarsson's very good performance Angers BC 49 was crushed 82-53 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#3) Souffelweyersheim. He was the top scorer with 15 points in 33 minutes. This year Gunnarsson has relatively solid stats: 12.1ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.8apg in the 13 games. He is also Icelandic national team player.

   #8. Center Gudni Valentinusson (204-85, currently plays in Denmark) was not able to help Aarhus BC (5-13) in their game against Svendborg (16-2) in the Danish Ligaen. Valentinusson scored 9 points. But Aarhus BC was crushed 83-61 on the opponent's court by the leading Svendborg. It was Aarhus BC's sixth consecutive loss in a row. Valentinusson's overall stats this season are: 4.1ppg and 2.2rpg. He used to play for the Icelandic U20 national team back in 2005.

Thor AK Akureyri (Dominos League) added to their roster 26-year old American power forward Marques Oliver (201-100kg-91, college: Delaware State). He played last season at Fjolnir in the D1. Thor AK Akureyri (Dominos League) landed 22-year old guard Hreidar Vilhjalmsson (190-95). He has played for the last four years at Fjolnir in the D1. In 28 games he averaged 5.4ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.9apg last season. Vilhjalmsson helped them to make it to the semifinals. He played in the final of Icelandic D1 Playoff in 2016. Russia - Iceland 82-69 Russia won the International tournament in Kazan undefeated. In the last game the overcame Iceland 82-69 to finish with a perfect 3-0 record. Russia insured a 24-15 lead from the start and added a 24-16 run in the second period.
