Lele Hardy
American Lele Hardy (182-SF-88, agency: Merit Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Njardvik and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 24-year old had a double-double of 29 points and eighteen rebounds, while her team outclassed Grindavik (5-12) with 29-point margin 99-70. Njardvik is placed at 6th position in Icelandic Express L.. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Njardvik have already lost 12 games and recorded just five victories. It's Hardy's second year at Njardvik and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Clemson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hardy. Hardy is in league's top in points (2nd best: 28.6ppg), assists (6th best: 4.4apg) and averages solid 5.4spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American guard Crystal Smith (168-G-84) of Grindavik. Smith impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Grindavik lost that game 70-99 to slightly higher-ranked Njardvik (5-12). This loss caused Grindavik to drop to 7th position in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Grindavik managed to get this year. Smith is a newcomer at Grindavik and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.9ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Kieraah Marlow (178-F-85) of second-ranked Snaefell. Marlow scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She was a key player of Snaefell, leading her team to a 77-65overtime win against the lower-ranked Haukar (#5, 8-9). Snaefell needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 4 lost games. Marlow has a great season in Iceland. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (5th best), rebounds with 10.4rpg (3rd best) and assists with 3.5apg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Britney Jones (172-G-87) of Fjolnir - 41 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Jaleesa Butler (185-G-87) of Valur - 22 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Shannon McCallum (177-G-87) of KR - 22 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-F-96) of Keflavik - 21 points and 11 rebounds
8. Siarre Evans (178-G/F-88) of Haukar - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists

10. Jessica Jenkins (172-G-90) of Keflavik - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
