The game between Top Four teams took place in Stykkisholmur. Their biggest opponent host Snaefell (14-5) lost to first ranked Keflavik (18-1) 75-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Snaefell. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-66. Keflavik made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Snaefell turnovers. Strangely Snaefell outrebounded Keflavik 54-39 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Jessica Jenkins (172-90, college: St.Bonaventure) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Birna Valgardsdottir (181-76) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Kieraah Marlow (178-85) responded with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Keflavik have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-1 record. Snaefell at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face Valur (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Snaefell will play on the road against Njardvik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Haukar (#5) was upset in Reykjavik by eighth ranked Fjolnir 78-66. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Heidrun Harpa Rikhardsdottir accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Siarre Evans (178-88, college: E.Tenn.St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for Haukar in the defeat. Fjolnir maintains eighth place with 3-16 record. Haukar lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Fjolnir will play against higher ranked Grindavik (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Haukar will play against KR in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Njardvik was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked KR (11-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Njardvik (5-14). KR defeated Njardvik 84-68 on Sunday. Shannon McCallum fired 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. KR's coach Finnur Stefansson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lele Hardy produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds for lost side. KR maintains fourth place with 11-8 record. Defending champion Njardvik keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Grindavik. KR will meet at home Haukar (#5) in the next round. Njardvik will play against the league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 19 Grindavik lost to Valur on the opponent's court 65-80.

Njardvik - KR 68-84

The game in Njardvik was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked KR (11-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Njardvik (5-14). KR defeated Njardvik 84-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 21-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KR forced 20 Njardvik turnovers. American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) fired 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88, agency: Promotex) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. KR's coach Finnur Stefansson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KR maintains fourth place with 11-8 record. Defending champion Njardvik keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Grindavik. KR will meet at home Haukar (#5) in the next round. Njardvik will play against the league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur and hope to secure a win.

Valur - Grindavik 80-65

Very expected game in Reykjavik where 7th ranked Grindavik (5-14) was defeated by third ranked Valur (12-7) 80-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Grindavik's 32. They outrebounded Grindavik 47-36 including 34 on the defensive glass. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valur made 8 blocks. American guard Jaleesa Butler (185-87, college: Georgetown) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. The former international forward Kristrun Sigurjonsdottir (176-85) chipped in 29 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Crystal Smith (168-84, college: Iowa) produced 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international forward Petrunella Skuladottir (177-85) added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valur have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-7 record having six points less than leader Keflavik. Grindavik lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Njardvik. Valur will meet league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U.M.F. Grindavik (D1) re-signed 22-year old international guard Ingunn Kristinardottir (170-95). She has played there for the last two seasons. In 26 Dominos League games she averaged 10.1ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.6spg last season. D1 will be definitely a better match and she can see more playing time. Snaefell (Dominos League) tabbed 27-year old American swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple). It is actually her comeback to Stykkisholmur as she has played here before. McCarthy played most recently at Eisvogel USC Freiburg in German DBBL. She managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). Keflavik (Dominos League) signed 23-year old American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94). She just graduated from S.Mississippi (NCAA). Dinkins has played there for the last four years. In 33 games she had very impressive stats: 18.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.8apg and 3.1spg last season. She helped them to make it to the final.
