Here is the weekly review of the top performing Icelandic players, who play currently abroad.

Hlynur Baeringsson
Hlynur Baeringsson
#1. This week's number one is an international forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82, currently plays in Sweden). He led Sundsvall Dragons to a victory against the seventh-ranked 08 Stockholm (12-14) 93-81 in the Swedish Basketligan in Tuesday night's game. Baeringsson had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 7 assists in 35 minutes on the court. Sundsvall Dragons (22-4) is placed first in the Basketligan. Baeringsson is the league's best rebounder with 10.4rpg. He also averaged so far 14.2ppg, 3.6apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 58.3%(112-192), 3FGP: 36.5% and FT: 75.2% in the 26 games he played so far. Baeringsson is currently a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

Jakob Sigurdarson
Jakob Sigurdarson
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Hlynur Baeringsson. But that was another game of his team in Swedish Basketligan which we would like to mention. Sigurdarson, who plays in the Swedish Basketligan. He could not help Sundsvall Dragons (22-4) in their last game on Friday. Despite Sigurdarson's very good performance the league leader Sundsvall Dragons was defeated 81-76 on the road by the league outsider Nassjo (#12). He was the top scorer with 21 points. Sigurdarson also added 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). It's Sigurdarson's fourth season with the team. He belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #5. Sigurdarson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 50.6%, 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 92.2%(106-115). Sigurdarson is in the roster of the Icelandic senior national team.

Axel Karason
Axel Karason
#3. The Icelandic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Axel Karason (194-83, currently plays in Denmark). He was the major contributor in Vaerlose's victory against the closely-ranked Randers (10-13) crushing them 97-76 in the Danish Ligaen on Wednesday night. Karason had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 16 rebounds in 31 minutes. Vaerlose BBK (8-9) is placed fifth in the Ligaen. Karason has relatively good stats this year: 11.4ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 54.7%, 3FGP: 34.7% and FT: 61.7% in the 22 games. He is also a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

Pavel Ermolinskij
Pavel Ermolinskij
#4. Guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law, currently plays in Sweden) managed to help Norrkoping Dolphins to win against the closely-ranked Sodertalje Kings (16-7) 78-71 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Ermolinskij recorded only 2 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Norrkoping Dolphins (18-2) is placed second in the Basketligan. Ermolinskij is currently third on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 10.2ppg, 7.0rpg, 4.7apg and 1.2spg. Ermolinskij is also Icelandic national team player.

Logi Gunnarsson
Logi Gunnarsson
#5. International shooting guard Logi Gunnarsson (192-81, currently plays in France) led Angers BC 49 to a 1-point victory over the eighth-ranked Blois (9-8) 61-60 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Gunnarsson recorded 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 36 minutes. Angers BC 49 (6-12) is placed 13th in the NM1. This year Gunnarsson has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.7apg in the 18 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic national team.

Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson
Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson
#6. Point guard Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (194-88, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Mitteldeutscher BC (8-12) in their game against Artland Dragons (12-9) in the German BBL. Vilhjalmsson scored only 4 points and added 4 assists. Mitteldeutscher BC was defeated 90-86 in Quakenbrueck by the much higher-ranked Artland Dragons (#6). Vilhjalmsson's overall stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.2apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Icelandic National Team roster.

Haukur Palsson
Haukur Palsson
#7. International small forward Haukur Palsson (197-92, college: Maryland, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Assignia Manresa (4-16) in their game against Regal FC Barcelona (12-8) in the Spanish ACB. Palsson cannot count it as his best performance. He scored only 1 points in 9 minutes on the court. Assignia Manresa lost 76-88 in Barcelona to the much higher-ranked (#5) Regal FC. This year Palsson averages just 1.5ppg in the 18 games. He is also Icelandic national team player.

Gudni Valentinusson
#8. Center Gudni Valentinusson (204-85, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help Aarhus BC (5-18) in their game against Svendborg (21-2) in the Danish Ligaen. Valentinusson cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. Aarhus BC was badly defeated 86-67 on the opponent's court by the leading Svendborg. It was Aarhus BC's 11th consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Valentinusson's overall stats this season are: 3.8ppg and 2.1rpg. He used to play for the Icelandic U20 national team back in 2005.

Other top Icelandic players, who play abroad:
