Brian Mills
American Brian Mills (203-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Stjarnan and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Grindavik (#1, 14-4) with 22-point margin 104-82. Stjarnan maintains the 5th position in Icelandic Express L.. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Stjarnan will need more victories to improve their 11-7 record. In the team's last game Mills had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Stjarnan's top player in his first season with the team. Mercer University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mills is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 9.7rpg) and averages solid 2.3bpg and 58.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American point guard Damier Pitts (177-PG-89) of KFI. Pitts impressed basketball fans with 45 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as KFI lost that game 93-119 to the higher-ranked Njardvik (#7, 9-9). This loss caused KFI to drop to 10th position in the standings. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories KFI managed to get this year. Pitts is a newcomer at KFI and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 34.6ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 7.3apg. Marshall University alumni Pitts played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another Stjarnan's star - American Jarrid Frye (194-G/F-85). Frye showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and nine assists in the last round. He was another key player of Stjarnan, helping his team with a 104-82 easy win against the higher-ranked Grindavik (#1, 14-4). Stjarnan needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Frye has a very solid season. In 8 games in Iceland he scored 22.3ppg. He also has 7.4rpg, 4.3apg, 2.1spg and FGP: 59.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nigel Moore (195-F/G-81) of Njardvik - 34 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Christopher Smith (204-PF-82) of Fjolnir - 28 points and 9 rebounds
6. Ingvaldur Hafsteinsson (200-F-81) of Fjolnir - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Benjamin Smith (178-G-87) of Thor Thorl - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
8. David Jackson (201-F-88) of Thor Thorl - 27 points and 15 rebounds
9. Eric Palm (188-G-87) of IR - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Michael Craion (195-F-89) of Keflavik - 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
