Jarrid Frye
American swingman Jarrid Frye (194-G/F-85) had a very impressive game in the last round for Stjarnan, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat KR (#7, 10-10) 87-75. Stjarnan maintains the 4th position in Icelandic Express L.. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Stjarnan will need more victories to improve their 13-7 record. Frye just recently signed at Stjarnan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jarrid Frye averages this season 22.8ppg, 7.9rpg and 4.5apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Michael Craion (195-F-89) of Keflavik. Craion had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Keflavik to edge slightly higher-ranked Thor Thorl (#3, 14-6) 106-100. Keflavik's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Craion is a newcomer at Keflavik, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#7). He also registered 13.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Christopher Smith (204-PF-82, agency: R.H.Consultancy) of Fjolnir (#10). Smith scored 22 points and grabbed twenty two rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Fjolnir, leading his team to a 79-70 win against IR (5-15). Fjolnir can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Smith he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Smith has individually a great season in Iceland. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.3ppg (3rd best) and assists with 2.8apg (7th best). He also has 2.6bpg and FGP: 55.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Jackson (201-F-88) of Thor Thorl - 26 points and 13 rebounds
5. Nigel Moore (195-F/G-81) of Njardvik - 32 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Ryan Amoroso (205-F-85) of Snaefell - 27 points and 15 rebounds
7. George Valentine (203-F) of Tindastoll - 22 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Drew Gibson (188-G-85) of Tindastoll - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 16 assists
9. Benjamin Smith (178-G-87) of Thor Thorl - 30 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Carlos Medlock (183-G-87) of Skallagrimur - 31 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
