Jeremy
Atkinson
26-year old forward Jeremy Atkinson (193-F-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for Njardvik and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had the game-high 34 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Njardvik in his team's victory, helping them to beat Skallagrimur (#11, 6-10) 100-91. Njardvik is placed at 7th position in Icelandic league. Njardvik is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-8 record. In the team's last game Atkinson had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Njardvik's top player in his first season with the team. Jeremy Atkinson averages this season 18.1ppg and 7.4rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Sherrod Wright (193-G-91) of Haukar. He is American guard in his first season at Haukar. In the last game Wright recorded impressive double-double of 42 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Haukar cruised to a 79-72 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Thor AK (#6, 8-8). This victory allowed Haukar to move up to 10th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Wright is a newcomer at Haukar and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.9ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.9rpg and 4.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Flenard Whitfield (200-F-90) of Skallagrimur (#11). Whitfield got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for twenty one rebounds and five assists. Despite Whitfield's great performance Skallagrimur lost 91-100 to the higher-ranked Njardvik (#7, 8-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Skallagrimur not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Whitfield could try to bring Skallagrimur's a little bit higher in the standings. Whitfield has individually a great season in Iceland. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.4ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 56.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Hlynur Baeringsson (200-F/C-82) of Stjarnan - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Tobin Carberry (193-G-91) of Thor Thorl - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Antonio Hester (198-F-90) of Tindastoll - 20 points and 10 rebounds
7. Pavel Ermolinskij (202-G-87) of KR - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Matthias Sigurdarson (180-PG-94) of IR - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Amin Stevens (203-F-90) of Keflavik - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jon Stefansson (192-G-82) of KR - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
