Here is the weekly review of the top performing Icelandic players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Haukur Palsson (197-92, college: Maryland, currently plays in France). He could not help SPO Rouen (6-11) in their last game. Despite Palsson's good performance SPO Rouen lost 74-87 on the road to the higher-ranked (#12) ALM Evreux. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Palsson also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 36 minutes on the court. Palsson has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.6apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 39.5%, 3FGP: 45.6%(26-57) and FT: 74.5% in 14 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern, currently plays in Sweden). Sigurdarson led Boras Basket to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Nassjo (2-7) 77-69 in the Swedish Basketligan last Thursday. He recorded 14 points. Boras Basket (12-11) is placed fifth in the Basketligan. This season Sigurdarson has relatively solid stats: 12.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.2apg, 2FGP: 50.5%, 3FGP: 32.0% and FT: 97.2%(70-72). He played for the Icelandic national team in 2015.

   #3. The Icelandic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Elvar Fridriksson (183-94, college: LIU Brooklyn, currently plays in NCAA2). Fridriksson contributed to a Barry University's victory against the Saint Leo University (7-8) 96-91 in the NCAA2 on Saturday night. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and making 12 passes. Fridriksson also added 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Barry University has a very good 12-3 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Fridriksson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 7.5apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 56.7%(59-104), 3FGP: 36.7% and FT: 88.9% in 17 games. Ex-UMFN Njardvik player is also a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #4. Forward Kristofer Acox (198-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Furman win their game against the The Citadel (2-5) 99-91 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Acox recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. The Furman University has 3-2 conference record this season. It's Acox's fourth year with the team. Acox has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg. He is also Icelandic national team player.

   #5. U20 international guard Kari Jonsson (190-97, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Drexel (1-5) in their last game. Despite Jonsson's good performance the Drexel was edged 104-103 at home by the Towson University. He recorded 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals in 33 minutes. It's Jonsson's first season with the team. This year Jonsson's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg in 25 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic U20 national team.

   #6. Guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Charleville-Mezieres (11-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite Hermannsson's very good performance Charleville-Mezieres was edged 82-80 in Saint Chamond by the league outsider Saint Chamond (#18). He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Hermannsson also added 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. This season Hermannsson has very high stats. He averages: 18.0ppg, 4.4rpg and 6.0apg. Hermannsson is an international player who is currently on the senior Icelandic National Team roster.

   #7. U20 international guard Jon Gudmundsson (193-96, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the one of league's weakest teams Davidson (2-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Davidson lost 59-70 in Kingston to the Rhode Island University. Gudmundsson scored 10 points in 40 minutes. This year Gudmundsson's total stats are: 8.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.6apg and 1.4spg in 21 games. He is also Icelandic U20 national team player.

   #8. Small forward Axel Karason (193-83, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help Svendborg (11-9) in their game against Randers (9-13) in the Danish Ligaen. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Karason scored only 2 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 22 minutes. Svendborg was edged 80-77 on their home court in Svendborg by the lower-ranked (#6) Randers. Karason has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 3.8rpg in 20 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic national team.

International point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Newberry, currently plays in Spain) managed to help San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos to win against the 13th-ranked Castello (9-13) 87-77 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Steinarsson recorded only 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (15-7) is placed third in the LEB Gold. Steinarsson has averaged so far 5.6ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.6apg. He is also in the roster of the Icelandic national team.

   #10. Swingman Kristinn Palsson (198-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Marist (3-5) in their game against the Manhattan College (1-2) in the NCAA. Palsson scored 6 points in 32 minutes. The Marist was edged 68-67 on their home court in Poughkeepsie by the Manhattan College. Palsson has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.5apg in 23 games. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Icelandic National Team roster.

   #1. Gunnar Olafsson (190-G/F-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the St.Francis, NY (2-4) to beat the St.Francis University (PA) (4-2). Olafsson recorded 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The St.Francis, NY was badly defeated 78-61 on the road by the St.Francis University (PA). Olafsson has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 5.3rpg.

   #2. Gunnar Hardarson (185-SG-96, currently plays in NCAA2) was not able to help the Belmont Abbey College in their game against the Emmanuel College, GA (8-7) in the NCAA2. Hardarson scored 7 points. The Belmont Abbey College was crushed 92-56 in Franklin Springs by the Emmanuel College, GA. Hardarson has averaged so far 8.4ppg and 1.7rpg.

Grindavik - KR 79-66 Grindavik rallied past KR at home court to even the title series at 2-2. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. KR managed to win third quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
