American Power forward Marques Oliver (201-PF-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Fjolnir, receiving a Eurobasket.com D1 Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Hamar (#5, 10-13) 104-91. Fjolnir is placed at 2nd position in Icelandic D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Fjolnir will need more victories to improve their 18-5 record. In the team's last game Oliver had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Fjolnir, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Delaware State University star has very solid stats this year. Oliver is in league's top in points (8th best: 20.0ppg) and averages impressive 2.6bpg,2.2spg and 74.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Urald King (198-F-90) of Valur. King had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Valur to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Hottur (#1, 20-3) 118-84. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Valur consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 17-5 record is not bad at all. King is a newcomer at Valur, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.9ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 12.2rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chris Woods (195-F-89) of Hamar (#5). Woods got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds . Despite Woods' great performance Hamar lost 91-104 to the higher-ranked Fjolnir (#2, 18-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Hamar ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Woods could help Hamar to bring them higher in the standings. Woods has a great season in Iceland. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.2ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 14.4rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.4bpg and FGP: 56.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Derek Shouse (188-G-93) of IA - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Austin Bracey (190-G-90) of Valur - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Aaron Moss (185-G) of Hottur - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Nebojsa Knezevic (196-F/G-87) of Vestri - 27 points and 7 rebounds
8. Gardar Sveinbjornsson (192-F/G-87) of Fjolnir - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Collin Pryor (200-F-90) of Fjolnir - 19 points and 4 rebounds
10. Jon Kristjansson (197-C-83) of IA - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
