Matthias
Sigurdarson
22-year old point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (180-PG-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for IR and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
He had the game-high 30 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for IR in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Keflavik (11-11) 88-87. IR maintains the 7th position in Icelandic league. IR is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-11 record. In the team's last game Sigurdarson had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be IR's top player in his first season with the team. Columbus State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Sigurdarson is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 50.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Amin Stevens (203-F-90) of Keflavik. He is American forward in his first season at Keflavik. In the last game Stevens recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Keflavik was edged by IR (11-11) 88-87. Keflavik managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Stevens is a newcomer at Keflavik and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.5ppg (#1). He also registered 15.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Flenard Whitfield (200-F-90) of Skallagrimur (#11). Whitfield got into 30-points club by scoring 50 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . Despite Whitfield's great performance Skallagrimur lost 89-101 to the higher-ranked Grindavik (#4, 13-9). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Skallagrimur not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Whitfield could try to bring Skallagrimur's a little bit higher in the standings. Whitfield has individually a great season in Iceland. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 29.4ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 14.6rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 55.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tobin Carberry (193-G-91) of Thor Thorl - 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Lewis Clinch (191-G-87) of Grindavik - 25 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists
6. George Beamon (193-G-91) of Thor AK - 30 points and 8 rebounds
7. Antonio Hester (198-F-90) of Tindastoll - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Anthony Odunsi (193-G-92) of Stjarnan - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Cedrick Bowen (198-F-92) of Haukar - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Tryggvi Hlinason (215-C-97) of Thor AK - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Grindavik - KR 79-66 Grindavik rallied past KR at home court to even the title series at 2-2. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. KR managed to win third quarter 17-12.
