Collin Pryor
American Collin Pryor (200-F-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) put on an amazing game in the last round for Fjolnir and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com D1 Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and eleven rebounds, while his team crushed IA (#8, 6-18) with 19-point margin 100-81. Thanks to this victory Fjolnir moved-up to the 3rd position in Icelandic D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Fjolnir will need more victories to improve their 19-5 record. It's Pryor's second year at Fjolnir and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Northern St. University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Pryor is in league's top in points (7th best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 12.1rpg) and averages solid 58.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American guard Derek Shouse (188-G-93) of IA. Shouse impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as IA lost that game 81-100 to the higher-ranked Fjolnir (#3, 19-5). IA managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories IA managed to get this year. Shouse is a newcomer at IA and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.4ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 9.5rpg and 5.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Terrance Motley (201-F-91) of FSu (#7). Motley showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, ten rebounds and nine assists in the last round. He was a key player of FSU, leading his team to a 92-71 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Hamar (#5, 10-14). The chances of FSU not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 16 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Motley could try to bring FSU's a little bit higher in the standings. Motley has individually a great season in Iceland. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 31.0ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 12.6rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.2spg, 1.1bpg and FGP: 53.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aaron Moss (185-G) of Hottur - 30 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Ari Gylfason (186-PG-89) of FSU - 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Birgir Petursson (205-C-86) of Valur - 18 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Nebojsa Knezevic (196-F/G-87) of Vestri - 20 points and 7 rebounds
8. Ragnar Albertsson (190-G-93) of Hottur - 23 points and 8 rebounds
9. Urald King (198-F-90) of Valur - 16 points and 7 rebounds
10. Helgi Jonsson (172-G-99) of FSU - 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

D1 Round 4 of Semi-Finals. Breidablik and Fjolnir force deciders - 2 hours ago
Breidablik - Valur 75-72 Breidablik held off Valur to force the decisive fifth game in the series. It looked good early as Valur took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Breidablik had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and Valur was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-75. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tyrone Garland (185-92, college: La Salle) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and guard...   [read more]

Haukur Palsson selected the top Icelandic playing abroad in last week's games - 23 hours ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Icelandic who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international small forward Haukur Palsson (197-92). He could not help SPO Rouen (10-13) in their last game. Despite Palsson's very good performance SPO Rouen was badly defeated 94-78 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#5) ADA Blois.    [read more]

Dominos League Round 3 of Quarter-Finals. KR and Stjarnan reach semifinal stage - 1 day ago
Tindastoll - Keflavik 107-80 Tindastoll avoided elimination as they cruised past Keflavik at home court. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Keflavik managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Keflavik's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (175-93) who scored 22 points and...   [read more]
