Keflavik outgunned Tindastoll to gain 1-0 lead in the series. Tindastoll was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 27-24 charge of Keflavik, which allowed them to win the game. They made 28-of-30 free shots (93.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Tindastoll helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners and guard Magnus Traustason (190-96) chipped in 33 points (!!!) (made all of his eight free throws). At the losing side guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Five Keflavik and four Tindastoll players scored in double figures. Tindastoll's coach Israel Martin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Stjarnan rallied past IR to surge ahead in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IR won third quarter 16-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stjarnan made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Nigerian-American guard Anthony Odunsi (193-92, college: Houston Baptist, agency: SDJ Sports) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Quincy Hankins-Cole (203-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (180-94, college: Columbus St.) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for IR in the defeat. Four IR players scored in double figures. IR's coach Borche Ilievski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.

Grindavik toppled Thor Thorl in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Thor Thorl was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Thor Thorl 43-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. The former international swingman Thorleifur Olafsson (192-84) nailed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds. KR cruised past Thor AK to spur ahead in the quarterfinal series. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Thor AK's 42. KR players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Thor AK's players. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) nailed 6 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Jon Stefansson (192-82) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Tryggvi Hlinason (215-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks and American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Thor AK in the defeat. Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
