The most exciting game of round 16 in the Superleague took place in Brunell. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Waterford Wildcats (7-10) to eighth ranked Singleton (4-12) 82-79 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Waterford Wildcats. Singleton shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Waterford Wildcats only scored seven points from the stripe. Strangely Waterford Wildcats outrebounded Singleton 50-34 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Waterford Wildcats helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Danielle O'Leary fired 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Megan O'Leary chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Niamh Mullally (180-84) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Singleton maintains eighth position with 4-12 record. Waterford Wildcats at the other side keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Singleton are looking forward to face higher ranked Peugeot Meteors (#5) in Dublin in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Waterford Wildcats will play on the road against Peugeot Meteors in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Guests from Dublin (14-3) smashed host 11890 Killester (10-7) 55-33. Worth to mention a great performance of center Christina Newton (180-90) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 6 rebounds. Lisa Palmer contributed with 6 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Louise Gray (175-88) replied with 14 points for 11890 Killester. 11890 Killester's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. DCU Mercy have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-3 record having just one points less than leader UL Aughinish. 11890 Killester at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. DCU Mercy's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Oblate Dynamos.

Worth to mention a great performance of Tessa Solan who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Oblate Dynamos' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Aine O'Connor responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Oblate Dynamos (2-15) moved-up to ninth place. Liffey Celtics lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. Oblate Dynamos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin DCU Mercy.

The winners were led by Rachel Vanderwal who scored that evening 25 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated UL Aughinish (16-0) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. Peugeot Meteors at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. UL Aughinish's next round opponent will be league's second-placed TM Hotel Cork at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Peugeot Meteors will play against Singleton in Brunell.

In the last game of round 16 Ulster Rockets were crushed by DCU Mercy in Dublin 61-36.

Undefeated leader UL Aughinish delivered the sixteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Peugeot Meteors (8-8) 87-31 in Dublin. UL Aughinish dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Peugeot Meteors' 20 and made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Peugeot Meteors only scored five points from the stripe. UL Aughinish forced 34 Peugeot Meteors turnovers. The winners were led by Canadian-British guard Rachel Vanderwal (176-83, college: Boston U.) who scored that evening 25 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Loretta Maher supported her with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Even 2 points and 12 rebounds by forward Rachel Fitzgerald (-89) did not help to save the game for Peugeot Meteors. Forward Rebecca Nagle (173-92) added 10 points for lost side. There was no surprise in Dublin where 7th ranked Ulster Rockets (6-10) were crushed by third ranked DCU Mercy (14-3) 61-36. DCU Mercy outrebounded Ulster Rockets 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international guard Shauna O'Connor (182-88) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Susanne Maguire (183-75) supported her with 11 points and 7 rebounds. DCU Mercy's coach Mark Ingle felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points by Meghan Houlihan did not help to save the game for Ulster Rockets. Noleen Lennon added 5 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side.
