UL Aughinish - Hotel Cork 66:54

UL Aughinish claimed the Superleague title. They overcame Hotel Cork in the repeat of the last seasons Final to defend their title. Michelle Fahy (183-C-82) exploded with 20 points to pace the winners.
UL Aughinish ensured a strong start. They played aggressive defence limiting Hotel Cork to 12 points in the first frame and taking a 7-point lead. Glanmire however recovered in the second term. They increased the tempo and saw the distance got as narrow as 3 points 30:33. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout intense third period. UL managed to stay in front as they entered the final quarter up by three points 46:43. UL quickly boosted the gap as Miriam Liston (173-G-83) made it 57:46. Hotel Cork did not manage to answer and UL Aughinish coasted to the victory. Rachel Vanderwal (176-G-83, college: Boston U.) notched 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Miriam Liston produced 9 points for the winners. Claire Rockall (178-G-90, college: Iowa St.) and Niamh Dwyer (176-G-82, college: Monmouth) replied with 11 points each for Hotel Cork. Valerie O'Driscoll (175-F-90) netted 10 points in the loss.

Under 16's to play on Reze Tournament in France - 3 days ago
The Ireland U16 Women's team will head to Nantes in the west of France on Wednesday (June 21st) to take part in the prestigious Reze Basketball Tournament 2016. Andy Gill's squad will come up against U16 squads from France, China, Belarus, Argentina, Croatia, Netherlands and Turkey in the tournament which runs from June 21st to 26th. Scannell announces Irish Senior Women panels for Mardyke Series - 15 days ago
Ireland Senior Women's Head Coach, Mark Scannell, has today announced two panels of players who will represent Ireland at this weekend's Mardyke Series. The two-game series will see Ireland welcome Iceland to the Mardyke Arena, UCC, Co. Cork on Friday, June 9th, with a 7.30pm tip off, before facing them once more in the second game on Saturday, June 10th at 5pm at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
