Saint Joseph's Hawks win four of five on Tour of Ireland - Aug 26, 2012

Saint Joseph's Hawks travelled to Ireland to play five friendly games with local teams. The Hawks celebrated four victories on the tour.
Saint Joseph's Uni opened their campaign against UL Aughinish team. The Hawks claimed a comfortable 80:48 victory at the end. Erin Shields (5'6''-G-91) and Chatilla Van Grinsven (6'2''-F-89) came up with 16 points each to lead the winners. The North American side outgunned their opponents 30:6 in the third term to clear off for good. Natasha Cloud (6'0''-G) accounted for 9 points in the victory.
Next Saint Joseph's team moved to Cork to take on Hotel Montenotte. And once again the visitors celebrated victory. This time the Hawks proved the strength claiming a 58:45 success. Kelsey Berger (5'11''-F) accounted for 11 points, while Ashley Prim (5'7''-G-91) and Chatilla Van Grinsven netted 10 points each in the victory.
The Hawks took on DCU Mercy in the third game on the tour. The visitors clinched a 65:53 win in Dublin. Erin Shields provided 15 points for the Hawks. Chatilla Van Grinsven contributed 11 points for the winners.
The fourth game was not successful for Saint Josephs University. They faced Irish Superleague Select Team and had to surrender 54:61 at the end. Ashley Robinson (6'2''-F-90) netted 15 points, while Chatilla Van Grinsven provided 14 points for the Hawks in the initial defeat.
The loss remained the only one on the tour as the Hawks posted a 72:53 victory against Barking Abbey in the final game. The North American side went on an 18:0 run to cap the contest sealing the victory. Natasha Cloud provided 12 points, while Shelby Smith and Sarah Fairbanks added 11 points apiece in the winning effort.

Embutidos Pajariel Bembibre PDM (LFB) re-signed 26-year old Irish international guard Orla O'Reilly (182-90, college: Binghamton, agency: Josep and Nicolas).
