The BBL, England Basketball and Basketball Ireland have announced that an England Select team will face an Ireland Superleague Select team on Sunday 13th January 2013 at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham.

The game will form part of the BBL Cup Final day and will see England head coach Paul James coach a team made up of English players playing in the BBL, going up against an Ireland Superleague Select team.

James is looking forward to the occasion: Its always great to coach the national team, he said. We had an enjoyable victory against Scotland before the BBL Play-Off final in May, and hopefully we can repeat that.

Bernard OByrne, Basketball Ireland Secretary General, added: We are really looking forward to coming over to Birmingham in January to face England. We are excited by the prospect of playing in front of a 6000 strong crowd at such a great event and would call on all Ireland fans to come along and make some noise.

Tickets are already on sale and selling quickly, so book today and get closer to the action!
