29-year old guard Rachel Vanderwal (176-G-83) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked UL Aughinish and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
She had the game-high 28 points adding four rebounds and three assists for UL Aughinish in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Ulster Rockets (#8, 0-2) with 47-point margin 77-30. UL Aughinish is placed at 2nd position in Irish Superleague. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but UL Aughinish already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Vanderwal had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at UL Aughinish, through which he has constantly improved. Boston University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Vanderwal is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.7ppg.
