Amy Waters put on an amazing game in the last round for Singleton, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The -year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while her team edged out DCU Mercy (#2, 6-1) 71-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Singleton maintains the 4th position in Irish Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Singleton will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. It's Waters' second year at Singleton and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Amy Waters has solid league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 11.2rpg. Waters is in league's top in assists (4th best: 3.4apg) and averages impressive 1.6bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old American Terran Condrey (170-G) of Waterford W.. Condrey had a very good evening with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she lead Waterford W. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Killester (#6, 2-4) 67-38. This victory allowed Waterford W. to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Condrey is a newcomer at Waterford W., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Christina Newton (180-C-90) of league's second-best DCU Mercy. Newton scored 25 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Newton's great performance DCU Mercy lost 67-71 to #4 ranked Singleton. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. DCU Mercy had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Newton's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Newton has a very solid season. In 6 games in Ireland she scored 7.0ppg. She also has 6.0rpg and 2.2spg.

9. Cathy Kavanagh (187-G-90) of Waterford W. - 12 points and 6 rebounds
10. Michelle Fahy (183-C-82) of UL Aughinish - 10 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Aine Mcdonnell put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Killester and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The had the game-high 9 points adding nine rebounds and fifteen assists for Killester in her team's victory, helping them to outclass NUIG Mystics (#7, 2-5) with 26-point margin 82-56. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The most exciting game of round 8 in the Super League took place in Dublin. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Liffey Celtics (5-2) to eighth ranked Meteors (2-5) 56-53 on Saturday evening. Center Claire Melia (185-C-99) put on an amazing game in the last round for P.Panthers, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 17-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Brunell (#9, 0-6) with 17-point margin 77-60.
