Kavanagh
Former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-G-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for Waterford W. and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 22-year old guard had a double-double of 15 points and eleven rebounds, while her team beat Singleton (#5, 4-5) 67-60. Waterford W. is placed at 4th position in Irish Superleague. Waterford W. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. Kavanagh has many years of experience at Waterford W., through which he has constantly improved. Kavanagh has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 12.6ppg) and averages solid 54.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old Croatian guard Tomica Bacic (182-G-87) of second-ranked TM Hotel Cork. Bacic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Of course she lead TM Hotel Cork to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Killester (#8, 3-8) 71-38. TM Hotel Cork's second position in the standings has not changed. Her team belongs to top of the standings with 9-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Bacic is a newcomer at TM Hotel Cork and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Canadian Rachel Vanderwal (176-G-83) of top-ranked UL Aughinish. Vanderwal showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in the last round. She was a key player of UL Aughinish, leading her team to a 58-40 easy win against the lower-ranked Meteors (#7, 3-8). Many experts and fans count UL Aughinish as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Vanderwal has a great season in Ireland. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (2nd best). She also has 3.3spg, FGP: 53.5% and 3PT: 56.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terran Condrey (170-G) of Waterford W. - 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Niamh Mullally (180-C-84) of Waterford W. - 13 points and 11 rebounds
6. Marie Breen (185-F/G-85) of TM Hotel Cork - 14 points and 11 rebounds
7. Lindsay Peat (175-G-80) of DCU Mercy - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Meagan Hoffman (183-F-82) of DCU Mercy - 17 points and 7 rebounds
9. Leah Westbrooks (182-F/C-88) of Killester - 8 points and 15 rebounds
10. Fionnuala Toner (175-G) of Ulster Rockets - 16 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
