Niamh Dwyer
Former international guard Niamh Dwyer (176-G-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked TM Hotel Cork, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, six rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Liffey Celtics (#9, 0-12) with 82-point margin 100-18. It allowed TM Hotel Cork to take over top position in the Irish Superleague. TM Hotel Cork has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. It's Dwyer's second year at TM Hotel Cork and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Former Monmouth University star has very solid stats this year. Dwyer is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.8ppg. Dwyer is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.3rpg) and averages impressive 3.6spg and 57.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another TM Hotel Cork's star - 25-year old Croatian Tomica Bacic (182-G-87). Bacic had a very good evening with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course together with Dwyer she helped TM Hotel Cork with another comfortable win outscoring Liffey Celtics (#9, 0-12) 100-18. This victory allowed TM Hotel Cork to move up to 1st position in the standings. Her team belongs to top of the standings with 11-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Bacic is a newcomer at TM Hotel Cork, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Edel Thornton of Singleton (#7). Thornton scored 28 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Thornton's great performance Singleton lost 64-75 to the higher-ranked Ulster Rockets (#4, 5-5). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Singleton not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Thornton could try to bring Singleton's a little bit higher in the standings. Thornton has individually a great season in Ireland. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.6ppg (5th best). She also has 2.6spg and FGP: 50.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sarah Woods (174-G-88) of DCU Mercy - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Amy Waters) of Singleton - 10 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Meagan Hoffman (183-F-82) of DCU Mercy - 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Grainne Dwyer (F-84) of TM Hotel Cork - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jade Daly (91) of Meteors - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Noleen Lennon) of Ulster Rockets - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Christina Newton (180-C-90) of DCU Mercy - 14 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
