Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Irish who are currently playing abroad.

Conor Grace
Conor Grace
#1. This week's number one is former international forward Conor Grace (210-82, college: Davidson, currently plays in Sweden). Grace was the major contributor in a LF Basket's victory against the closely-ranked 08 Stockholm (13-16) 70-61 in the Swedish Basketligan last Tuesday. He scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes on the court. It was his first game for LF Basket this season. His team is placed eighth in the Basketligan. Former DCU St.Vincents Dublin starter played for the Irish senior national team four years ago.

Colin O'Reilly
Colin O'Reilly
#2. Second place goes to former international forward Colin O'Reilly (200-84, college: Post, currently plays in United Kingdom). O'Reilly contributed to a 2-point Plymouth Raiders' victory against the closely-ranked Surrey Heat (14-7) 91-89 in the British BBL on Saturday night. He scored 6 points. UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders (15-8) is placed fourth in the BBL. It's O'Reilly's first season with the team. O'Reilly has relatively good stats this year: 12.3ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 58.2%(78-134), 3FGP: 35.2% and FT: 78.9%. He played for the Irish national team in 2009.

Sean McCarthy
Sean McCarthy
#3. The Irish player who performed third best last week abroad was former U16 international center Sean McCarthy (208-93, currently plays college basketball in the States). McCarthy managed to help New Jersey Institute of Technology to win against the Utah Valley University (2-4) 63-55 in the NCAA last Saturday. He scored only 4 points. The New Jersey Institute of Technology has a very good 5-1 conference record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season McCarthy has relatively solid stats: 11.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 49.5%, 3FGP: 34.2% and FT: 74.4%. He played for the Irish U16 national team four years ago.

Mark Reynolds
Mark Reynolds
#4. Forward Mark Reynolds (197-84, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL could not help Durham Wildcats (8-16) to beat Glasgow Rocks (16-8). Reynolds cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 2 minutes on the court. Durham Wildcats was crushed 99-73 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#3) Glasgow Rocks. This year Reynolds averages: 1.0ppg in the 21 games he played so far. He used to play for the Irish national team back in 2007.

The list of other players, who all have Irish passport but never been selected to any of Irish national teams:

#1. Levon Kendall (209-F-84, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Spain) led Blusens Monbus to a surprising victory over the second-ranked Caja Laboral (17-4) 84-70 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Kendall had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds in 29 minutes. Blusens Monbus Obradoiro CAB (10-11) is placed tenth in the ACB. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. Kendall has relatively good stats this year: 13.2ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in the 21 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Irish.

#2. Will Hanley (200-G/F-90, agency: Duran International, college: Bowdoin, currently plays in Spain) led Oviedo CB to a 2-point victory against one of league's weakest teams Castello (5-10) 81-79 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. Hanley recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 5 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Hanley's third season in pro basketball. Oviedo Club Baloncesto (11-4) is placed first in the LEB Silver. Hanley belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #2) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Hanley averages: 18.3ppg, 11.7rpg and 1.5spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Hanley has never played in Ireland.

#3. Andrew James Ogilvy (211-C-88, college: Vanderbilt, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Germany could not help the league outsider Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-7) to beat Zalgiris (3-4). He recorded only 4 points in 5 minutes on the court. The eighth-placed Brose Baskets Bamberg was edged in an overtime 88-87 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Zalgiris in the group E of Euroleague. So far Brose Baskets Bamberg lost all seven games in the Top 16. This year Ogilvy averages: 3.6ppg and 1.9rpg in the nine games. He is another player who holds two passports: Australian and Irish.

#4. Mihajlo Pesic (206-F/C-81, agency: Three Eye Sports, currently plays in Cyprus), who plays in the Cypriot Division A was not able to help AEL (6-15) in their last game on Friday. Despite Pesic's very good performance AEL was defeated 73-66 in Nicosia by the second-ranked Etha. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Pesic also added 8 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended. Pesic is currently fourth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place). This season he has very high stats. Pesic averages: 16.6ppg, 8.6rpg and 1.3apg. He has both Irish and Serbian nationalities.

#5. Experienced Tony McCrory (199-G/F-77, college: Simon Fraser, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to Starwings' victory against the league leader Fribourg (16-3) 93-83 in the Swiss LNA in Saturday night's game. McCrory recorded 6 points in 33 minutes. Starwings Basket Regio Basel (6-13) is placed sixth in the LNA. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. McCrory is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Starwings' roster. This season McCrory has relatively solid stats: 11.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.5apg in the 18 games. He also holds two passports: Canadian and Irish.

Maree crowned Division One champions - 8 days ago
MAREE were today crowned Basketball Ireland Men's Division One Regular Season champions for the second year in a row with a win over Ulster University Elks in Oranmore. In an extremely close and competitive game, it took Maree until the fourth quarter to put some breathing space between the two sides, with momentum swinging from end to end throughout the game. Good scoring from Kenneth Hansberry and Eoin Rockall (182-PG-98) sealed the deal in the end for the Galway side, and Maree were cr...   [read more]

Naturalized American Forward Jermaine Turner (195-F-74) put on an amazing game in the last round for Killester, receiving a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22. The 42-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Eanna (#11, 5-16) 89-75. Killester maintains the 5th position in Irish Super League.
