An interesting game for Swords Thunder (9-1) which played road game in Dublin against one of their biggest challengers UCD Marian (8-3). Second ranked Swords Thunder managed to get a 9-point victory 88-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UCD Marian. Swords Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Swords Thunder made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds, 14 assists and 5 steals. Spanish center Jose Maria Gil (207-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Spanish forward Dustan Moreira (202-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 21 rebounds for UCD Marian. Swords Thunder have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record behind leader Templeogue. UCD Marian at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Swords Thunder's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Templeogue.
Super League top team - Templeogue (10-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Tralee (6-4) 79-70. Undefeated Templeogue have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Newly promoted Tralee keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Templeogue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Swords Thunder.
Bottom-ranked KUBS is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to ninth ranked Belfast Star (3-6) 92-68 on Sunday evening. Dillon Stith notched a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks to lead the effort. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Kevin Foley did not help to save the game for KUBS. KUBS's coach Kevin Foley gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Belfast Star moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Moycullen. Newly promoted KUBS still closes the standings with nine games lost. Belfast Star will meet at home higher ranked UCC Demons (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KUBS will play against Eanna (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Dublin was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked UCC Demons (7-3) played at the court of 7th ranked DCU Saints (3-7). UCC Demons managed to secure a 4-point victory 80-76. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 7-3 record. DCU Saints at the other side dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. UCC Demons' next round opponent will be Belfast Star (#7) on the road. DCU Saints will play against Killester in Dublin and hope to win that game.
The game in Dublin supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Killester (6-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Eanna (3-8). Killester smashed Eanna 92-67 on Friday. Killester moved-up to fifth place. Loser Eanna dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Killester will face DCU Saints (#9) in Dublin in the next round. Eanna will play on the road against KUBS in Greendale and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 10 UL Eagles was smashed by Moycullen on the road 91-66.

Moycullen - UL Eagles 91-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Moycullen's (3-6) home victory over 11th ranked UL Eagles (1-9) in Galway 91-66 on Sunday. They outrebounded UL Eagles 49-33 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Moycullen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by UL Eagles' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Moycullen made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for American forward Phillip Lawrence (201, college: Marist) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Paul Freeman (201-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Moycullen players scored in double figures. Moycullen's coach John Cunningham felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Ryan Wilson (195-88, college: William Penn) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and French guard Jonathan Dogbo (193, college: Gannon) added 9 points in the effort for UL Eagles. Moycullen moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Belfast Star. UL Eagles lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Moycullen will face higher ranked UCD Marian (#3) in Dublin in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UL Eagles will play at home against Tralee (#6) and hope to win that game.
