Dillon Stith
Forward Dillon Stith (200-F) had a very impressive game in the last round for Belfast Star and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had a double-double of 39 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team KUBS (#12, 0-9) with 24-point margin 92-68. Belfast Star is placed at 7th position in Irish league. Belfast Star is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-6 record. In the team's last game Stith had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Belfast Star's top player in his first season with the team. Saint Vincent College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Stith is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.6ppg. Stith is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 11.4rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 61.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Martins Provizors (202-C-87) of DCU Saints. He is Latvian center in his 2nd season at DCU Saints. In the last game Provizors recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as DCU Saints was edged by the higher-ranked UCC Demons (#4, 7-3) 80-76. This loss caused DCU Saints to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Provizors is well-known at DCU Saints and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#6). He also registered 16.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jose Maria Gil (207-C-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) of league's second-best Swords Thunder. Gil scored 18 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Swords Thunder, leading his team to a 88-79 win against #3 ranked UCD Marian in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Swords Thunder as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 9 victories and only one lost game. Gil has a great season in Ireland. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.0rpg (6th best). He also has 3.0bpg and FGP: 60.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Isaac Westbrooks (189-PG-85) of Swords Thunder - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists
5. Dustan Moreira (202-F-89) of UCD Marian - 13 points and 21 rebounds
6. Ryan Wilson (195-G/F-88) of UL Eagles - 27 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

That last gasp bucket was just one story of many that can be told from today's game, with Jason Killeen (2...   [read more]
