Martins
Provizors
29-year old center Martins Provizors (202-C-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for DCU Saints and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21.
He had a double-double of 35 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out KUBS (#11, 4-16) 77-74. DCU Saints is placed at 8th position in Irish league. DCU Saints is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-13 record. In the team's last game Provizors had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at DCU Saints and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Provizors has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.1ppg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 69.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jason Killeen (211-C-85) of top-ranked Templeogue. He is former international center in his 3rd season at Templeogue. In the last game Killeen recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Templeogue to another comfortable win 84-70 over the lower-ranked Moycullen (#7, 8-12) being unquestionably team leader. Of course Templeogue still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 19-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Killeen is one of the most experienced players at Templeogue and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#8). He also registered 11.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Mike Garrow (193-G-91) of UCD Marian (#3). Garrow scored 12 points and grabbed twenty four rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of UCD Marian, leading his team to a 87-77 win against the lower-ranked UL Eagles (#12, 1-19). UCD Marian is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 16-4 record is not that bad... Garrow has a great season in Ireland. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.9rpg (2nd best). He also has 5.6spg, 1.8bpg, FGP: 57.6% and 3PT: 55.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kevin Foley (193-G/F-83) of KUBS - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Corbin Jackson (203-F-92) of KUBS - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Dustan Moreira (202-F-89) of UCD Marian - 20 points and 8 rebounds
7. Ryan Wilson (195-G/F-88) of Belfast Star - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Isaac Westbrooks (189-PG-85) of Swords Thunder - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists
9. Jacob Lawson (203-F-92) of UCC Demons - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Goran Pantovic (208-F-91) of Tralee - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Donaghy the star as Tralee Warriors crowned Men's Champions Trophy champions - 22 days ago
Kieran Donaghy (198-G/F-83) was the star of the show in Letterkenny today as Tralee swooped home to glory and scooped the silverware in the final of the Basketball Ireland Men's Champions Trophy. It was a thrilling finale in Donegal as Donaghy drove down the court and laid the ball up in style to send another epic battle with Regular Season champions, Templeogue, to overtime (66-66). That last gasp bucket was just one story of many that can be told from today's game, with Jason Killeen (2...   [read more]
