Ironi Ashkelon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Derwin Kitchen (193-86, college: Florida St., agency: VVG Sports) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) supported him with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Ironi Ashkelon. Galil Gilboa was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of Maccabi Ashdod, which allowed them to win the game. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Josh Carter (201-88, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American Romeo Travis (200-84, college: Akron) responded with 18 points and his fellow American import point guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH) scored 16 points and 4 assists.
