Hungary had joyful Day One of U18 EuroBasket Division B in Strumica. They handed 68-55 loss to Israel for 1-0 record in Preliminary Group A. Hungary was 7-points up after ten minutes and increased its lead to 18 until the halftime. When Hungary jumped to plus 24 at the middle of Q4 it was clear that the game winner is already known. Amadea Szamosi (190-F/C-94) shined for Hungary with double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Fanni Csutoras (181-G/F-94) had 14 points and 6 rebs, while Diana Mihaczi (170-PG-94) added 9 pts, plus 5 boards. In defeat, Mariam Hannoun (178-F-94) collected 15 points and 5 boards. Nof Kedem (170-SG-94) and Noa Ruda (172-F-95) scored 12 and 8 points respectively. Both teams will take a rest today. On Saturday, Hungary will play against Portugal, while Israel will meet Austria.

Tamara James orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). She started her career in 2005-2006 for Miami, FL (NCAA). In 30 games she had 21.5ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.3apg, 3.1spg, FG: 48.6%, 3PT: 38.7%, FT: 83%. Later she played for Washington Mystics, Mersin BSH Bld, Maccabi Ramat Hen and Raanana Hertzeliya. In 2010-2011 Tamara James played for Maccabi Ashdod (Israel-D1, starting five) and averaged 17.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.5apg, 1.7spg, FGP-3 (58.0%), 3PT-1 (46.3%), FT: 79.1%. In 2012-2013 moved to Elitzur Ramla and had 15.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.6apg, 1.3spg, FGP-1 (67.3%), 3PT: 33.6%, FT: 71.2%.
