Maccabi Tel-Aviv advanced into Winners Cup pre-season tournament Final. They overcame Maccabi Haifa 86:79 in the semifinal. Maccabi Tel-Aviv led by just a single point 45:44 at halftime. Maccabi Haifa went on a 10:2 run early in the second half to surge ahead. They extended the margin to 8 points in the fourth quarter 72:64. But David Logan (184-G-82, college: Indianapolis) stepped up for Tel-Aviv late in the game. He drained 11 points in the crucial stage of the game to secure a tough win for Maccabi Tel-Aviv. David Logan finished with 16 points to lead the winners. Lior Eliyahu (203-SF-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) posted 14 points, while Ricky Hickman (189-PG-85, college: NC-Greensboro) added 13 points for Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Donta Smith (201-SF-83, college: SE Illinois JC) answered with 27 points for Maccabi Haifa. Paul Stoll (178-PG-85) came up with 19 points in the loss.
Maccabi Ashdod had little problems against Hapoel Jerusalem en route to a 69:59 success. Ashdod went on an 18:2 run in the opening quarter to take a 23:6 lead. They boosted the lead to 20 points 31:11 early in the second quarter and protected the advantage well enough to escape with the victory at the end. Diamon Simpson (201-F-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) posted 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the charge. Chris Allen (190-G-88, college: Iowa St.) added 15 points in the winning effort. Raviv Limonad (191-SG-84) answered with 12 points in the loss.

They beat Ironi Kiryat-Ata on the road to even the championship series at 2-2 forcing the decisive fifth game. Galil Gilboa outrebounded Ironi Kiryat Ata 51-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. Ostioneros de Guaymas (CIBACOPA) signed 34-year old American guard Paul Marigney (192-92kg-82, college: St.Mary's, CA). He moved there from Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israeli Artzit where he started the season. In 29 games he had very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 6.3rpg, 3.6apg and 1.5spg this season.
