Express win UBA draft lottery - Oct 11, 2012

David Walls Reports:
10/11/2012

The Express, recently relocated to Houston, won the UBA's draft lottery Wednesday and the No. 1 pick overall -- which they almost certainly will use to pick former Maryland star Terence Morris (6'10''-F-79, college: Maryland).

The Express started it's franchise in Norman, Oklahoma and was know for just having a middle of the road team that prides it's self on defense and hustle. In 2011 the Express upset UBA favorite GIE Morrow Disciples in the 2nd round of the playoffs. They would later lose in the Semi Finals but proved that heart not talent can win big the the playoffs.

The Express have been led by 2011 co-Rookie of the Year Brayon Brown (6'3''-G-86, college: Oklahoma) and UBA All-Star Kenneth Henderson (6'7''-F-82, college: Texas Arlington) who later left to join Svit of Slovakia. Henderson ranked 3rd in the league in scoring and was named Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian Import Team.

The UBA draft will take place Saturday November 3rd in Atlanta, GA. The Express will be on center stage where again they will most likely draft former NBA player Terence Morris with the 1st overall pick.

The pick of Morris along with the return of of Ken Henderson changes the complete make up of the Express. Brayon Brown will continue to produce 15 plus ppg and Anthony Allison (6'7''-F-86, college: Texas Coll.) will also return. This puts the Express in a power position to win it;s first UBA title.

"I have been quite this whole offseason just waiting for December, said Express star Brown. It's time for the Express to move up to one of the elite teams of the UBA.

Brown would be right. The UBA has been dominated but the SEC like dominance of the Southern Conference. The Southern Conference holds every UBA title and looks to continue it's dominance. GIE is returning league MVP Jermaine Barnes (6'5''-G/F-82, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Point, GA) and Freddie Williams (6'2''-G-87, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Clayton St.). Who looked great for Team USA this summer in the Asia Cup. The Georgia PRIME add legendary coach Michael Davis . Davis wasted no time in the offseason selecting DeAndre Bray (5'6''-G-85, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Jacksonville St.) as his point guard (reigning UBA guard of the year). The Southern General return Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Atlanta Christian) as it's head. The Generals were the 2011 UBA champs and look to reclaim the thrown with De La Cruz at the head.

This will be the most competitive UBA season yet.
