The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

Maccabi Ashdod's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Ironi Ashkelon (0-5) 82-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Ironi Ashkelon managed to win third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ashdod made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Ironi Ashkelon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Guard Chris Allen (190-88, college: Iowa St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) answered with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Ironi Ashkelon. Maccabi Ashdod (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Ironi Ashkelon's fifth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi Ashdod are looking forward to face higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (#6) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Ashkelon will play at home against Bnei Hasharon (#9) in Hod Hasharon and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Winner League top team - GreenTops Netanya (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Maccabi Rishon (3-2) 70-62. American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Marco Killingsworth chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Undefeated GreenTops Netanya have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Maccabi Rishon at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. GreenTops Netanya will play against Maccabi Haifa (#4) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Maccabi Ashdod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Galil Gilboa is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to sixth ranked Maccabi T-A (4-1) 94-62 on Sunday evening. Giorgi Shermadini nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mitchell Watt came up with 16 points for Galil Gilboa in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel Eilat. Galil Gilboa lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Elizur Ashkelon. Maccabi T-A will meet league's second-placed Hapoel Eilat on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galil Gilboa will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
The game in Eilat was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Hapoel Holon (3-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Hapoel Eilat (4-1). Hapoel Eilat managed to secure a 4-point victory 77-73. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was Eli Holman who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hapoel Eilat. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Hapoel Eilat's next round opponent will be Maccabi T-A (#3) in Tel-Aviv, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Holon will play at home against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem.

Hapoel T-A - Maccabi Haifa 52-88

The game between 4th placed Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-2) and seventh ranked Maccabi Haifa (3-2) in Tel-Aviv on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Haifa outscored Hapoel Tel-Aviv 88-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Tel-Aviv. The game without a history. Maccabi Haifa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi Haifa outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 47-22 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hapoel Tel-Aviv was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward James Thomas (205-80, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) added 11 points in the effort for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Bottom-ranked Galil Gilboa is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to sixth ranked Maccabi T-A (4-1) 94-62 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Bnei Hasharon - Hapoel J-M 68-94

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Hapoel J-M (2-3) crushed 7th ranked Bnei Hasharon (2-3) in Hod Hasharon 94-68 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hapoel J-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hapoel J-M forced 19 Bnei Hasharon turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hapoel J-M looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Craig Smith (201-83, college: Boston Coll.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import Courtney Fells (198-86, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Hapoel J-M players scored in double figures. Belizean guard Milton Palacio (193-78, college: Colorado St.) answered with 17 points and American forward Herb Pope (203-89, college: Seton Hall) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel J-M moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Bnei Hasharon. Hapoel J-M will face higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Maccabi Ashdod - Elizur Ashkelon 82-68

Maccabi Ashdod's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Ironi Ashkelon (0-5) 82-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Ironi Ashkelon managed to win third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ashdod made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Ironi Ashkelon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Guard Chris Allen (190-88, college: Iowa St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) answered with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St., agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Maccabi Ashdod (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Ironi Ashkelon's fifth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi Ashdod are looking forward to face higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (#6) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Ashkelon will play at home against Bnei Hasharon (#9) in Hod Hasharon and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Hapoel Eilat - Hapoel Holon 77-73

The game in Eilat was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Hapoel Holon (3-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Hapoel Eilat (4-1). Hapoel Eilat managed to secure a 4-point victory 77-73. Hapoel Holon was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 27-18 charge of Hapoel Eilat, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was power forward Eli Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Jerome Tillman (198-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Frank Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) added 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Five Hapoel Eilat and four Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hapoel Eilat. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Hapoel Eilat's next round opponent will be Maccabi T-A (#3) in Tel-Aviv, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Holon will play at home against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem.
