Maccabi Ramat Hen (D1) signed 24-year old American center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois). She played last summer at Indiana Fever (WNBA). Smith also played at B.C. Ganei Tikva (previous name B.C. Habikaa) that season. In 22 D2 games last season she had very impressive stats: 17.9ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.7bpg. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Quite impressive season as she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Center of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. The most of last season Smith spent at MBK Ruzomberok in Slovakian Extraliga. In 21 games last year she recorded 14.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.9apg, 2.2spg and 1.1bpg. She contributed to her team making it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team. Quite impressive season as she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian Extraliga Center of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. The other team Smith played that season for was Nantes Reze in French league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and she was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 8 Eurocup games she recorded 12.0ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg. Smith also played 11 games in French LFB where she recorded 9.0ppg and 6.2rpg. Two years ago Smith was drafted by Washington Mystics (WNBA) in second round (14th overall).
She attended University of Illinois until 2010 and it will be her third season in pro basketball.
Smith was voted WBCA All-NCAA D1 Honorable Mention in 2010 at her college time.

Edremit Belediyesi Gurespor (TKBL) added to their roster 23-year old American guard Danaejah Grant (175-94, college: St.John's). She was supposed to play at Ramat Hasharon in Israeli D1 league. In only one game she recorded 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals this season. 26-year old shooting guard Tayler Hill (178-SG-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Bnot Hertzeliya and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. She had the game-high 31 points adding two rebounds and nine assists for Bnot Hertzeliya in her team's victory, helping them to beat Maccabi Raanana (#7, 3-7) 81-75. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (9-2) in Ramat Hen on Monday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (3-8) 81-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Gan.
