After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the National League and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games, games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ironi Ramat Gan smashed 12th ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba at home 78-57. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-57. Ironi Ramat Gan outrebounded Hapoel Kfar Saba 46-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. American forward Keith Ramsey (205-87, college: Missouri) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Amit Tamir (208-79, college: California) chipped in 16 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Adam Constantine (206-88, college: Elon) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ironi Ramat Gan have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 4 other teams. Hapoel Kfar Saba at the other side dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Hapoel Kfar Saba will play next round against Elitzur Ramla trying to get back on the winning streak. Ironi Ramat Gan will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Beer Yaakov at home.

Beer Yaakov has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Maccabi K/G (1-4) 83-63 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Inan Iram who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Johndre Jefferson produced 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beer Yaakov left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Maccabi K/G. Beer Yaakov will meet league's leader Ironi Ramat Gan on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi K/G will play against Hapoel Afula (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
