There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of D1 and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places.

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Galil Elion (2-1) on the court of fifth ranked Elitzur Netanya on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Elitzur Netanya 94-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Galil Elion. Galil Elion was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-18 charge of Elitzur Netanya, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Galil Elion's 40 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) who led her team to a victory with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jamaican-American point guard Maurita Reid (173-85, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American forward Christine Flores (190-90, college: Missouri, agency: Ronsport) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds for Galil Elion. Despite that victory Elitzur Netanya went down to sixth position due to points difference. Galil Elion at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Elitzur Netanya are looking forward to face league's second-placed Hap.Petah Tikva on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galil Elion will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Ramat Hen. Seventh ranked Ramat Hasharon (1-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Maccabi Ramat Hen (1-1) 86-83 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Hen. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Alexis Gray-Lawson helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds. Ramat Hasharon left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Maccabi Ramat Hen. Ramat Hasharon will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ramat Hen will play against Elitzur Holon (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.

Porsche Poole came up with 24 points and 4 assists for Hap.Petah Tikva in the defeat. Elitzur Ramla left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Hap.Petah Tikva. Elitzur Ramla will meet Maccabi Ashdod (#4) on the road in the next round. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Elitzur Netanya.
The game in Holon supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Maccabi Ashdod (3-0) played at the court of bottom-ranked Elitzur Holon (0-3). Maccabi Ashdod smashed Elitzur Holon 95-68. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was Charde Houston who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Defending champion maintains fourth place with 3-0 record. Elitzur Holon at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be Elitzur Ramla (#7) at home. Elitzur Holon will play against Maccabi Ramat Hen and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Elitzur Netanya - Galil Elion 94-87

The game in Holon supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Maccabi Ashdod (3-0) played at the court of bottom-ranked Elitzur Holon (0-3). Maccabi Ashdod smashed Elitzur Holon 95-68. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Elitzur Holon was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ramat Hen (D1) added to their roster 22-year old American guard Jordan Reynolds (180-95, college: Tennessee). She played last summer at Rockhampton Cyclones in Australian QBL.
