Nigerian Chukwudinma Odiakosa (203-F/C-85, agency: N.E.T.) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Hod Hasharon and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 6. The 27-year old power forward had a double-double of 27 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team edged out Kiryat Tivon (#13, 1-5) 80-77. It allowed Hod Hasharon to jump to the first place in the Israeli National League. Hod Hasharon have a solid 5-1 record. Odiakosa turned to be Hod Hasharon's top player in his first season with the team. Illinois State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Odiakosa. Odiakosa is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.3ppg) and averages solid 1.7bpg and 61.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American guard Adam McCoy (195-G-86) of Ironi Nahariya. McCoy impressed basketball fans with 31 points and 2 assists. Of course he lead Ironi Nahariya to another comfortable win 96-79 over Maccabi K/B (#14, 0-6) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Ironi Nahariya to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. McCoy is a newcomer at Ironi Nahariya and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Ironi Nahariya's star - American Ramon Clemente (200-PF-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza). Clemente scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Ironi Nahariya, helping his team with a 96-79 easy win against Maccabi K/B (#14, 0-6). Ironi Nahariya needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Clemente has a great season in Israel. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.4rpg (6th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Greg Murray (195-F-89) of Kiryat Tivon - 17 points and 10 rebounds 5. Keith Ramsey (205-F-87) of Ironi Ramat Gan - 13 points and 11 rebounds 6. The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Omri Casspi (6'9''-SF-88) broke his right thumb tonight in his first game with the Pelicans since Monday's trade, tweets Justin Verrier of ESPN.com. Doctors are projecting that the injury will sideline him for four to six weeks. Casspi was sent from Sacramento to New Orleans along with DeMarcus Cousins (6'11''-C/F-90, college: Kentucky) in a five-player deal. His injury capped an overall bad night for the Pelicans, who suffered a 30-point loss to Houston in front of a sold-out Smoothie King Center. Casspi played 23 minutes and scored 12 points before being hurt. New Orleans was counting on him to provide some wing depth after shipping Buddy Hield (6'4''-G-93, college: Oklahoma), Tyreke Evans (6'6''-PG-89, college: Memphis) and Langston Galloway (6'2''-G-91, college: St.Joseph's) to the Kings. Casspi is making $3MM this season in the final year of his contract, so he is a candidate to be waived or bought out if the Pelicans don't want to wait for his return. New Orleans waived Lance Stephenson in a similar situation in November when the team felt like it needed a healthy player. The Pelicans filled one final roster spot today when they signed Hollis Thompson to a 10-day contract, but opened another when they waived Terrence Jones. Courtesy of: hoopsrumors.com
