27-year old power forward Ramon Clemente (200-PF-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) put on an amazing game in the last round for Ironi Nahariya and receives a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 7. He had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Kiryat Tivon (#13, 1-6) 84-70. Ironi Nahariya is placed at 5th position in Israeli National League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Ironi Nahariya will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Clemente turned to be Ironi Nahariya's top player in his first season with the team. Wichita State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Clemente is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.6ppg. Clemente is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 10.4rpg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 66.2% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Brandon Brooks (188-G-87, agency: Pro One Sports) of Hapoel K/S. He is American guard in his first season at Hapoel K/S. In the last game Brooks recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 16 assists. Of course Hapoel K/S cruised to a 99-88 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Macc.B.Yaakov (#11, 2-5). This victory allowed Hapoel K/S to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Brooks is a newcomer at Hapoel K/S and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Johndre Jefferson (207-F-88) of Elitzur Ramla (#10). Jefferson scored 17 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Jefferson's great performance Elitzur Ramla lost 80-89 to the higher-ranked Ironi K-A (#1, 6-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Elitzur Ramla can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jefferson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jefferson has individually a great season in Israel. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.0rpg (7th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Allen Durham (198-F-88) of Hapoel Afula - 23 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists 5. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
