An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kfar Blum. Third ranked Galil Elion faced second-ranked Hap.Petah Tikva. Host Galil Elion (3-1) defeated guests from Petah Tikva (3-2) 71-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hap.Petah Tikva. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Galil Elion forced 25 Hap.Petah Tikva turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Ronsport) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import point guard Sydney Carter (167-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Ronsport) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Great Britain started with an 8:2 run, but allowed the guests to catch up with them later in the half. Rachel Vanderwal (176-G-83, college: Boston U.) pulled her side with a 10-2 run in the third quarter that saw them go 54:41 clear. The team from Israel replied with a 12-0 run and later took 60:59 advantage. Great Britain needed another run to seal the victory in their opener. Stefanie Collins (168-PG-82, college: St.Bonaventure) and Rachel Vanderwal top-scored for the winners with 12 points each. Liron Cohen (173-G-82) replied with 13 points in the losing effort. Tomorrow Great Britain will take on Germany. The latter lost their opener to Greece 42:61 in the first game of the tournament. Greece will face Israel in another game of Day 2.
