Briann
January
25-year old point guard Briann January (173-PG-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had an amazing evening in the last round for Ramat Hasharon and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6.
She got a double-double of 10 points and 17 assists, while her team outclassed Elitzur Holon (#8, 1-5) with 44-point margin 108-64. Ramat Hasharon maintains the 5th position in Israeli D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Ramat Hasharon will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for January as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Arizona State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. January is league's best passer with 6.8apg. January

Second best performed player last round was Courtney Hurt (185-F-90) of Elitzur Netanya. She is American forward in her first season at Elitzur Netanya. In the last game Hurt recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Elitzur Netanya lost that game 74-81 to slightly higher-ranked Maccabi R.Hen (#6, 3-2). Elitzur Netanya is still second from the bottom in the standings. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Elitzur Netanya managed to get this year. Hurt is a newcomer at Elitzur Netanya and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#3). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Ramat Hasharon's star - guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-PG-87). Gray-Lawson showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, five rebounds and four assists in the last round. She was another key player of Ramat Hasharon, helping her team with a 108-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Elitzur Holon (#8, 1-5). Ramat Hasharon needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Gray-Lawson has a great season in Israel. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.8ppg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ashley Shields (180-SG-85) of Maccabi Ashdod - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Avery Warley (190-F-87) of Elitzur Holon - 15 points and 14 rebounds
6. Charde Houston (185-F-86) of Maccabi Ashdod - 20 points and 11 rebounds
7. Kaili McLaren (188-F-88) of Ramat Hasharon - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Christine Flores (190-F-90) of Galil Elion - 20 points and 10 rebounds
9. Jenna Smith (191-C-88) of Maccabi R.Hen - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Tamara James (178-G/F-84) of Elitzur Ramla - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
