The most important game in the last round took place in Rishon Le-Zion between second ranked Galil Elion (4-3) and ninth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (1-6) on Thursday night. Galil Elion was defeated by Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion on the road 77-66. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-66. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Jessica Lawson (191-86, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 21 rebounds. point guard Shey Peddy (170-88, college: Temple) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Christine Flores (190-90, college: Missouri, agency: Ronsport) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the guests. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Elitzur Holon. Galil Elion at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Ramat Hasharon and Maccabi R.Hen. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion is looking forward to face higher ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Galil Elion will play against Ramat Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Holon supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Elitzur Ramla (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Elitzur Holon (1-6). Elitzur Ramla smashed Elitzur Holon 86-62. The former international Ortal Oren (175-84, college: UCLA, agency: Data Plus Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 assists. Tamara James contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Avery Warley (190-87, college: Liberty) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for Elitzur Holon. Elitzur Ramla have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record behind leader Maccabi Ashdod. Elitzur Holon at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with H.R. Le-Zion. Elitzur Ramla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Elitzur Holon will play on the road against Elitzur Netanya (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Ramat Hen was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Hap.Petah Tikva (3-4) played at the court of fifth ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (4-3). Maccabi Ramat Hen defeated Hap.Petah Tikva 80-65 on Thursday. Worth to mention a great performance of Karima Christmas who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Rebekah Gardner responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Maccabi Ramat Hen moved-up to third place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon and Galil Elion. Hap.Petah Tikva lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Maccabi Ramat Hen will meet league's leader Maccabi Ashdod on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#9) and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 8 Elitzur Netanya was defeated by Ramat Hasharon in a road game 96-84.


Elitzur Holon - Elitzur Ramla 62-86

The game in Holon supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Elitzur Ramla (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Elitzur Holon (1-6). Elitzur Ramla smashed Elitzur Holon 86-62. The game without a history. Elitzur Ramla led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Elitzur Ramla forced 22 Elitzur Holon turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Elitzur Ramla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Elitzur Netanya's (2-5) road loss to sixth ranked Ramat Hasharon (4-3) 84-96 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ramat Hasharon. Elitzur Netanya managed to win fourth quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ramat Hasharon dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Netanya's 44. Ramat Hasharon forced 20 Elitzur Netanya turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-87, college: California) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Lasondra Barrett (187-90, college: LSU) who added 17 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest.
