Talented American Christine Flores (190-F-90, agency: Ronsport) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Galil Elion and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 22-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and eighteen rebounds, while her team lost the game against H.R. Le-Zion (#9, 1-6) 66-77. Galil Elion moved-up to the 3rd position in the Israeli D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Galil Elion will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Flores had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Galil Elion's top player in her first season with the team. University of Missouri graduate has very impressive stats this year. Flores is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.1rpg) and averages solid 2.3bpg and 52.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American point guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-PG-87) of Ramat Hasharon. Gray-Lawson impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Ramat Hasharon cruised to a 96-84 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Elitzur Netanya (#7, 2-5). This victory allowed Ramat Hasharon to move up to 4th position in the standings. Her team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Gray-Lawson is a newcomer at Ramat Hasharon and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.5ppg (#4). She also registered 5.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Courtney Hurt (185-F-90) of Elitzur Netanya (#7). Hurt scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Hurt's great performance Elitzur Netanya lost 84-96 to the higher-ranked Ramat Hasharon (#4, 4-3). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Elitzur Netanya can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Hurt she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Hurt has individually a great season in Israel. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 8.8rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jessica Lawson (191-C-86) of H.R. Le-Zion - 19 points and 21 rebounds
5. Lasondra Barrett (187-F-90) of Ramat Hasharon - 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Rebekah Gardner (185-G-90) of Hap.Petah Tikva - 30 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Karima Christmas (182-G/F-89) of Maccabi R.Hen - 23 points and 14 rebounds
8. Khadijah Rushdan (175-G-88) of Maccabi R.Hen - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Shey Peddy (170-PG-88) of H.R. Le-Zion - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Ortal Oren (175-SG-84) of Elitzur Ramla - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
